The Kudums Calendars

This set of desktop calendars was created for BrainSTARS, an education company based in Bangalore. It was a monthly project; BrainSTARS picked the theme for the calendar and sent us the content every month, and the design had to feature their mascot, Kudums.
The theme for June was 'women scientists in India,' inspired by a book called 'Lilavati's Daughters,' a collection of biographical essays.

July was all about the monsoon, and Bangalore's water shortage problem. The calendar highlights the city's water sources, the total water consumption and the current statistcs of rain water harvesting.
The August calendar was about promoting the Infinity Kit, a BrainSTARS product solution for teaching mathematics.
September focused on the multiple intelligences theory, as cultivated by the MiIND programme at BrainSTARS.
October was about noise pollution levels in the city.
The November Calendar was about the Indian scientist Satyendranath Bose, whom boson particles are named after.
The December calendar talked about India being a source of global manpower, in the context of skills-training.
January was about weather changes in Bangalore, as observed by the city's residents, and quoted, with illustrations, in the calendar.
For February, we looked at lizards. The theme for National Science Day this year, was 'fostering scientific temper.' BrainSTARS looked at common questions that people might have about things they encountered on a day to day basis and picked the question: "How do lizards crawl on walls and ceilings without falling down?"
March was about colours in the world around us, from a scientific point of view.
April concentrated on the festival Ugadi, and particularly a dish prepared for the festival, called Bevu-Bella.
May was about water volumes in the summer, from an exclusively mathematical perspective.
The June calendar celebrated BrainSTARS' tenth birthday.
The July calendar was about the speed of the human sneeze.
